We apply our specialist knowledge, expertise and experience within contracting to manage risks, maximise the benefits of resource recovery / reclaimed materials and where possible provide significant savings over disposal to landfill.
Lead Removal / Decontamination
Lead can be found in construction workplaces. It is commonly used as a specialist material and present in older buildings.
Lead can cause serious health problems such as anaemia or kidney disease and research has linked exposure to a small number of occupational cancers. We undertake every aspect of lead abatement using highly trained site teams and the latest technologies.
A Lead Survey should be undertaken initially to determine the location and severity of any contamination. We work with numerous accredited survey companies across the UK and we are able to recommend appropriate partners to suit client requirements. Soft Strip Demolition
Woods can undertake soft strip demolition as part of any enabling works prior to asbestos removal.
Our experience and trained operatives carry out soft strip demolition projects where there is a requirement for non-structural elements of a building to be removed.

Featured Project
Ysbyty Glan Clwyd Hospital
Woods have completed complex and extensive removal works at Glan Clwyd, the largest hospital in North Wales with a floor area in excess of 30,000m2. Opened in 1980 at a cost of £16m the hospital has now undergone a well publicised redevelopment with Woods playing an instrumental part in this challenging process.
These works highlight our ability to deliver high value, complex project work whilst enabling the client to remain fully operational during our removal works.
This project involved a significant amount of planning with all Stakeholders in order to best manage the phasing of the works to ensure site critical areas of the hospital remained fully operational, 24 hours a day.
